Die Damhuis

Die Damhuis Private Lake Cottage is a peaceful off-grid retreat situated on the scenic Piket-Bo-Berg, nestled within a working farm in the mountains of the Western Cape. Surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty, it offers guests a private and tranquil self-catering farm stay, ideal for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

The cottage is completely off-grid and operates without Eskom electricity. It is equipped with a gas geyser for hot water, a two-plate gas stove, basic cooking facilities, and a stovetop coffee pot.

Please note that bedding is not included as standard. Guests are welcome to bring their own bedding or request bedding in advance at an additional cost.

One of the highlights of Die Damhuis is its exclusive access to a private dam located directly in front of the cottage. Guests can enjoy fishing, canoeing, birdwatching, or simply relaxing by the water while taking in the spectacular mountain views.

A variety of optional activities are available at an additional cost and must be booked in advance:

As this is a fully off-grid farm environment, all additional services and activities should be arranged before arrival.

Outside, guests can unwind on the private terrace overlooking the dam and surrounding mountains, enjoy a traditional braai, and relax in the outdoor seating area while experiencing the peace of farm life on the Piket-Bo-Berg.
